The Fly By

The way that I created this stamp was by carving out the design. This type if stamp is called a Linocut. The way it's done is by carving into a plate of rubber with different sized carving tools to create a design that you like. 

When you finish carving then you roll black ink onto it with a roller and place a piece of paper on top and rub the back of the paper with things like a wooden spoon or even your hands until it's transferred.

This was one of those pieces that you can really show your creative side because of the all the different designs you could pick. 

The name "The Fly By" was inspired because of how dragonflies stop to rest and just as fast they are gone flying away.
